What spousal benefits should i seek at my deceased husband place of employment My husband worked for the state of mi for 17 years..he quit his job in sept 2009...Passed away sept 2010..i contacted human resources ..they didnt help at all...I called off of retirement..which im not eligible until im 55..(2028)..by him quitting his job...Should i not seek anything there money wise (like life insurance ect....i don' know what to look for ...Any othe kind of death benefits ..besides social security |

The only death benefits you will be entitled to is a death benefit if he had a life insurance policy or social security. Contact the social security office to find out everything you are eligible for. Contact his last place of employment to see if there was a life insurance policy in place. If he quit his job in 2008 then I assume there was another job after that.
