Mother of 3, gaining a few pounds , tired and you chalk it up to turning 36. Come on girl you can think of something better. Chances are your may be slightly anemic. People with anemia report non-specific symptoms of a feeling of weakness, or fatigue, general malaise and sometimes poor concentration. Sound familiar. Lock the kids in a closet, run over to the doc ask for a hemglobin threshold test. If it's less than 12 g/dl you need some vitamins. Try some iron, folic acid and vitamins C & B12. If that doesn't work try sex for thirty days straight (it may not help the anemia but it couldn't hurt) Stay well young lady three brats are depending on you.

Fatique could be a sign of an overactive thyroid. If you decide on a phyiscal, make sure you have your thyroid assessed.

Couple of years back my wife in her early thirties had same issues and it turned out to be a thyroid condition. A simple test might help since it might be hormonal.

This can be a symptom of depression...We do not always feel depressed, however, many of us have "regressed feelings"...Turning 36, is not a recipe for weight gain nor loss of energy...There is an underlying cause...You may need to speak to your physician about this and have a complete work-up done to rule out any physiological reason for this...Your physician will then know the best course of action to take...There are many medical conditions that can be the culprit...Put your mind at ease and have yourself checked out....You are still a pup..LOL...Coming in here from an ole dog...Good Luck and God Bless...Please, keep us posted.

Most likely you have an open ileocecal valve. What? Ileocecal valve: it's a valve that connects your large intestine to your small intestine. It is usually triggered open by allergies. It's very common for it to be open causing all kinds of problems; being tired is the most common and obvious one. The good news is that you can massage it closed yourself at home! Here is a website that describes how to do it:

I hope this helps!

Have you tried something new for this past year? Why not find any new exciting activities such as salsa class, going to the place you'd never gone before, try kickboxing class if you haven't . Bring something new and fresh in your life. Take vacation. don't overlook the small joy like having lunch date with kids at the park or have a family road trip this weekend. I know it is easier said than done. But once you take the first, small step you will not going to look back. Depending on medication to ease your depression in the long term will make things worst.

You do really need to see your doctor about this, as nobody can diagnose you by internet even with far more comprehensive details of your health history and medical data than you tell us. There are so many possibilities that may need to be investigated by health professionals before any doctor can correctly diagnose you.

As others rightly say tiredness can be caused by depression or anxiety because that can affect your quality of sleep? Or it may be due to a more serious condition such as anemia or cancer which you really do need to be checked for. If cancers are identified early they are no problem but if not diagnosed early enough you then do have a big problem.

Or tiredness more commonly can be due to you not getting the right quality of restorative NREM and REM sleep, such as suffering from sleep apnoe, or it can even be caused by you having too much sleep, all points you need to investigate.

The only way you can find out is to get your doctor to refer you to a sleep clinic where your phases of sleep can be properly monitored by such equipment as electroencephalograms. They will ascertain if, for example, your problem is because of brief episodes of temporary cessation of your breathing happening during your nights in bed, in which case they may be able to recommend the right equipment to stop that, such as a Continuous Positive Airways pressure machine to assist your inhaling and exhaling or possibly arrange some type of nasal or jaw surgery, should that be the problem?

But also you do not say if you have had blood tests or other health checks in a hospital. If not these can direct attention to possible causes, such as possibly reduced or defective production of haemoglobin in your blood or perhaps reduced or defective production of your red blood cells or iron deficiency.

Also you do not to find out if you are getting the right amount of sleep for you as an individual as everybody's needs are different in that respect . Only be a proper medical check up after visiting your doctor can the reason for your fatigue be correctly ascertained and then treated realistically.
