I think that anytime you want to cheat on your taxes, the answer would be NO.

Can you do an online form and continue to add and add dependents until you reach 24? Probably. But I imagine that the IRS would flag that filing for review before they release any sort of refund.

Hi welcome to webanswers. Congratulations on having a large family! The IRS does not give money for having more dependents. If you have paid taxes into the Federal tax system, you will surely qualify to receive a large amount of that money in return. The IRS can not give people money for any amount of dependents. You normally keep more money of which you have earned throughout the year. You could get money by applying for food stamps programs and health programs designed to help those who are unable to provide for their families. Contact your state assistance services by using google and you will see that your state may provide you with monetary assistance in times of need!

If you have proof that you support 24 dependents, go right ahead. The IRS will be anxious to see what income you receive, where its from and the records of how you financial support two dozen people.

If you can get beyond all that and have any refund left over after all the expenses 24 people must create, then you can invest your money any way you'd like.

To claim 24 would be tax fraud if you don't actually have 24 children, chances are good that you don't. Do you feel like spending time in federal prison, is it worth the risk to you?

If you're talking about putting 24 on your W-4 for withholding purposes, the employer has to send your form in to the IRS if you use over 9. They will monitor you for possible tax evasion. If you truly owe no tax, then it wouldn't matter. Otherwise, you might find yourself audited. Keep good records!

(Income is high enough to even consider needing 24 exemptions ... It's a problem I would like to try having.)
